Leyline Renewable Capital Welcomes Todd Kice as New Managing Director

Leyline Renewable Capital welcomes former renewable energy developer Todd Kice to its development finance team. In his role as a managing director of origination, Todd is responsible for building relationships with renewable energy project developers and connecting them to Leyline's flexible finance solutions.

"Leyline succeeds in using capital to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy because of our expertise as former developers," said Erik Lensch, Leyline's chief executive officer. "With more than 12 years of experience in renewable energy development and more than 17 years in finance, Todd is the perfect fit for his position as a managing director, and we are excited to welcome him to our team."

Prior to joining Leyline, Todd was the vice president of finance at Hecate Energy, which grew to be the largest independently held greenfield utility-scale solar development firm in the U.S. in less than 10 years. At Hecate, Todd led the sale of 20 projects and managed 10 additional sales totaling 3,186 megawatts, simultaneously managing relationships with banks and lenders.

Todd got his start in renewables during his time at investment banking firm, Hudson Securities, Inc. Todd served as a senior associate of corporate finance for five years from 2005 - 2010. In his role, he helped raise private investment for public middle market companies, including a number of renewable energy projects.

"After developing renewable energy projects for a decade with a privately financed developer, I understood the market shortage of early-stage development capital. Many financiers are willing to acquire renewable energy projects during construction or operation, but Leyline understands developer needs and will provide capital from the start," Todd said. "I am excited to join a team built to evaluate risk and provide solutions that help developers to maximize their portfolio or platform outcomes."
